About Me

Mya is a very patient instructor and understand that students learn at a different pace, after all everyone is an individual! Although trained in standard teaching methods, she developed her own method to fulfill her students’ needs.
She received her degree in Geology from Yangon University in Yangon, Myanmar in 1993. After she moved to New York City in 2005, She earned a M.A. (Geology) from The City College of New York in 2010. She learned crocheting and sewing from her mother. She also took a bauble, bangle and bead string class, Draping I & II classes, and pattern making I & II classes from Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.
She's been teaching private sewing lesson (since 1998 in Myanmar and Since 2015 in VA), beading and pearl knotting lesson (since 2009), and Burmese language (since 2014). She has loved helping her students.
She is looking forward to helping new students to achieve their goals!
